MORAL VALUES AS REFLECTED BY PROTAGONIST CHARACTER ‘AVERY DANIELS’ MIRROR IMAGE SANDRA BROWN

Abstract

The objective of this research is to find out the moral values of
protagonist character ‘Avery Daniels in Mirror Image by Sandra
Brown. This novel told about a TV Reporter Avery Daniels who
was emotionally unable to participate in news reporting. Avery
should live another woman named Carole Rutledge. She was
wife of famous senatorial candidate of TEXAS named Tate
Rutledge. Methods of the research is descriptive qualitative
method. The data in this research were taken by the writer from
dialogue in this novel. In technique to analyze the data the
researcher analyzed the data by using descriptive analysis.
Finding of the research the researcher found are seven top moral
values namely, unconditional love and kindness, honesty, hard
work, respect for other, co-operation compassion, and
forgiveness according to Banarjee theory. Moral values that
found on protagonist character ‘Avery Daniels’ compassion,
unconditional love and Honesty. Unconditional love and kindness
as the dominant moral values that found on protagonist character
‘Avery Daniels’ Mirror Image Sandra Brown.
