THE INFLUENCE OF WORK ETHIC AND WORK ENVIRONMENT ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE AT WEST BATURAJA DISTRICT OFFICE
Abstract
This research aims to determine the influence of work ethic and work environment on the performance of West Baturaja sub-district office employees. The data collection technique used in this research is through observation, interviews and distributing questionnaires. This research had 44 employees as respondents. The analytical method used is a quantitative method using multiple linear regression analysis tools. Based on the results of the analysis, it is clear that the calculated t for each Work Ethic variable (X1) is 3.216 and Work Environment (X2) is 3.727, which is greater than the t table value of 2.019, stating that all variables have a significant effect on the performance of the employees of the West Baturaja District Head Office. The calculated F value of 44.027 is greater than the F table of 3.23, indicating that together the work ethic and work environment influence the performance of the employees of the West Baturaja Subdistrict Office. The coefficient of determination (R Square) is 0.682, meaning that in this case the contribution of the influence of work ethic and work environment on employee performance is 68.2%, while the remaining 31.8% is influenced by other variables not included in this research, namely ability and expertise, work motivation, leadership style, work discipline and organizational culture (Kasmir, 2019:189).
