Abstract

In this research, we discusses about the gold mine tailings as a subtitution of fine aggregate materials with strength K225 without adding additional substances to improve the compressive strength and flexural strength of concrete. In this study, the compressive strength test at the age of 3, 7, 14, 21, 28 days by percentage of tailings as subtitution of fine aggregate is 0%, 30% and 70%. The results showed that the higher the percentage of additional tailings is the lower the compressive strength of concrete produced. Huge losses to the tailings concrete as fine aggregate substitute in the percentage of 30% and 70% against 0% (normal concrete is 265.60 kg / cm2 and 167.70 kg / cm2. This is a regular decrease of the concrete has a compressive strength of normal 320.29 kg / cm2. He result of concrete strength test performed at 28 days with a percentage of 30% tailings and 70% shows the relationship between compressive strength and flexural strength of concrete in the same circumstances, that is r = 0.74 '' c (MPa), this is with reference to ACI 311M-05 is r = 0.62 '' c (MPa).
