KINERJA INDUSTRI KAIN BATIK BASUREK DI KOTA BENGKULU

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the performance of the Basurek Batik Fabric small industry in Bengkulu City and identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in developing the Basurek Batik Fabric small industry in Bengkulu City. The research method used is descriptive method to describe the performance of the Basurek Batik Fabric industry in Bengkulu City. The inhibiting and supporting factors of the Basurek Batik Fabric industry in terms of capital, production value, raw materials, labor. The results of this study are the Basurek Batik Fabric craftsmen in Bengkulu City are generally traditional craftsmen who are leading or starting to move to a modern level, the knowledge of these Basurek Batik Fabric craftsmen about the business and making of batik is obtained from personal experience, stories from relatives, family , their friends, from training, counseling and so on, the labor required is in accordance with the ability of the business owners to pay and the willingness of the workers themselves, and the capital used is their own capital and borrowed capital from financial institutions and the government by post and so on. The study found that there was a decline in the performance of the Basurek Batik Fabric industry on average every year. Although capital is sometimes successfully increased, the amount of production and labor is relatively decreasing every year due to an increasingly difficult economy.
